What Ivan won't make.
Ivan explains almost anything, hard subjects included: war, crime, disease, drugs as medicine, sex education, and how scams and attacks work so people can spot them. A few kinds of film it declines for anyone.
Updated
Serious harm
Ivan won't give step-by-step help to make or use weapons, explosives, or dangerous chemicals or germs, to commit a crime, or to hurt people or animals. It won't describe methods of suicide or self-harm, or encourage them. Explaining how these things work at a textbook level, their history, and how to prevent them or recover is welcome.
Sex, hate and harassment
Ivan never makes sexual content involving anyone under 18, and it doesn't make explicit content meant to arouse. It won't demean people for who they are, glorify atrocities, or target, mock or expose a private person. Sex education, consent and health are welcome.
Deception
Ivan won't make scams or phishing, films that pose as a real bank, company, government body or news outlet, made-up news presented as real, false claims of fact about real people, or dangerous health or election misinformation. Films that teach people to recognise these are welcome.
Elections
Ivan won't make persuasion about a real election or candidate aimed at a particular group of voters. Neutral explainers about elections, voting, parties and what candidates say they stand for are welcome, and so are opinion pieces on issues.
Other people's creative work
Ivan won't make films starring characters still under copyright from films, cartoons, games or comics, or read out copyrighted books, scripts or song lyrics word for word. Summaries, reviews and analysis of those works, with short quotes, are welcome. Only add material and logos you have the right to use.
How Ivan itself works
Ivan doesn't share how it is built: its instructions, prompts, formats or settings. Films about how AI and AI video tools work in general are welcome.
When Ivan declines
Ivan reads each request, and anything attached to it, before anything is charged. When it declines, nothing is charged, and it suggests nearby films it can make. If a film starts to cross one of these lines while it is being made, it is stopped there and nothing is charged. An account with many requests declined in a short time has its new requests paused for a while, up to a day.
Checks like these can be wrong in either direction. If Ivan declined something it should have made, or made something it shouldn't have, please tell us.
Think Ivan got it wrong?
Write to support with the film's link or your request, and we'll look at it.
